South Indian actress Namitha is very excited about her upcoming appearance on the big screen not only for the fact that it is her first Tamil film after a long wait of fifteen months, but also because she gets to portray a very “powerful character” in the upcoming Kollywood venture 'Ilaignan'.
Directed by Suresh Krissna, 'Ilaignan' shows Namitha in a negative avatar. In fact, the actress is the Machiavelli of 'Ilaignan' in the sense that she is the scheming woman who is also the source of all troubles in the film's storyline.
In a statement to the media, Namitha says that her role in the 2009 Tamil venture 'Jaganmohini' was well received by the audience in South India and the actress had also received rave reviews from film critics.
Therefore, she had waited to repeat the success with an equally good film after 'Jaganmohini'. It now looks like 'Ilaignan' is the perfect platform to repeat the success that she had achieved in Kollywood more than a year back.
Namitha also recalls how she was convinced by her director Suresh Krissna to say yes to his project when she was initially skeptical about playing an out and out negative character on screen. Namitha now feels that she had taken the right decision to be a part of such a wonderful Kollywood project. 'Ilaignan' also stars actress Remya Nambeesan.
The key factor to the success of the film is its script which has been penned by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi. According to reports, the actors will have a tough time speaking the Tamil that the politician has used for the film as he is a master of the language.
