Lahore Snow Hailstorm

The provincial metropolis was dressed to kill in bridal white on Saturday as visiting cold westerly winds sucked in moisture, taking it places at high altitudes before letting it loose in the shape of hailstorm on Lahorites as winters prepare to kiss goodbye, with March knocking at the door.

It fell like confetti over uptown Lahore for over an hour. So intense was the storm that it looked as if the city had worn a white sheet within minutes. The pleasantly surprised residents stood numb, enjoying every bit as the weather unfolded different moods within a few hours.

With romance in the air, even the less privileged relatively exposed commuters on two-wheelers just couldn’t hold their smiles, despite struggling to find a shelter. Even long traffic holdups were welcomed as Lahorites made the best of the time at hand by capturing the nature’s blessing in their cellphones.
