NEC unveiled Contactless hybrid finger scanner

NEC has commercially unveiled the world’s first Contactless Hybrid Finger Scanner that can simultaneously acquire fingerprint and finger vein characteristics without any physical contact. Hailed as HS100-10’s, the device makes it difficult for impostors to circumvent the authorization system.
Also its contact-less sensor is sturdy against the characteristics of fingers that are exceedingly dry or moist with exceptional accuracy which often comes in the way of accurate readings of contact-based devices. It also has a USB interface that allows one to connect with a PC to log onto its operating system or unlock its screensaver in two different environments i.e. stand-alone and ActiveDirectory environment. It features support with various major access management software including IBM’s Tivoli Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On and Novell’s Novell SecureLogin. NEC will be putting its device for public display at the Pulse 2011 event in Las Vegas from February 27th.
