Winner of Best Actor Star Screen award - Salman

It was an almost clean sweep by Dabangg at the 17th Annual Star Screen Awards. Though it couldn’t win the Best Film trophy, its lead actor Salman Khan won the Best Actor honours. First week into the New Year, Bollywood has already begun awarding the best talents and films of 2010.
Held at the MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex, the 17th annual Star Screen Awards was a gala night with performances from many stars, including Aishwarya Rai, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu.
The highlight of the evening was Shah Rukh Khan who anchored the show along with Shahid Kapoor. The duo had everyone in splits with their banter and jokes.
Vikramditya Motwane’s small-budget film that got rave reviews, Udaan, was awarded the Best Film trophy. Motwane also won the Best Director award. Salman Khan pipped Shahrukh Khan to grab the Best Actor (Male) award but SRK did win the Best Actor by Popular Choice (Male) award for his performance in My Name Is Khan.
Vidya Balan was named the Best Actor (Female) for her performance in Ishqiya, and Katrina Kaif won the Best Actor Popular Choice (Female) for her role in Raajneeti.
Ajay Devgan, who starred in three hit films in 2010 was named the Best Performer.
Ranveer Singh, of Band Baaja Baaraat won the Most Promising Newcomer (Male) award and Sonakshi Sinha was named the best debutante for Dabangg.
