'Mausam' Faces Plagiarism Allegations

Shahid Kapoor's upcoming film 'Mausam' is facing rough weather. The film, which is also his father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut has been hit with claims of plagiarism, with a writer complaining the working title and probably the story too have been copied.
Reports claim that Nawman Malik, who had acted alongside Pankaj Kapoor in the television show Neem Ke Ped, has said that he had narrated a similar story idea with the same title to Kapoor a few years ago. Malik alleges that while Kapoor had shown an interest in the film idea and thought of casting his son Shahid for the peoject, it did not work out.
After Pankaj announced his new project, Mausam, Malik feared it may be the same film idea and raised the issue. He has filed a complaint against Pankaj Kapoor with the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers
Meanwhile, Kapoor has not commented on the claim and is expected to meet the Producers association first. Shahid Kapoor will accompany his father to the meeting.
Mausam, which is said to be a working title for the film, is a love story starring Sonam Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, who plays an Air Force pilot in the film.
