Feature-rich concept cellphones

Over the period, people have witnessed a remarkable change in the basic function, i.e. communication, of cellphones. Now, with a majority of cellphone users looking for multiple functions in mobile handsets, the focus of smartphone designers has been shifting toward utility phones that can meet communication as well as multimedia needs, through a single device, of the users.
Have a look at some feature-rich cellphone concepts that are not just functional in use but also features sleek design to attract trendy users.
Traccia pen-like mobile phone
We’ve seen the vaguest of phones, and ones most creatively decked out too, yet we haven’t seen anything as genius as the Traccia mobile phone by designer Andrea Ponti. The Traccia is a phone that’s held as a pen; it recognizes hand movements and converts the same into commands. An embedded optical sensor (like optical mouse laser) located at the end of the stick (phone) detects the traces of what is being written and a software then converts them into text, commands and functions. Imagine the ease a phone like a pen would bring to writing emails and text; wouldn’t it be in the most natural way we know? Yes, it would. And drawing invisible lines to access to contacts and menu functions with three buttons on the side for navigation make the stick phone all the more luring. Like all phones now, the Traccia too gets a camera that’s positioned in the center of the arc under the display. Thus, its right to say that in a time where mobile trend is focused only on touchscreens, Traccia built in polycarbonate is an alternative way to create natural interaction between people and machines.
BlackBerry Empathy Phone
In recent past, social networking has emerged as a popular medium, especially among gen-next, to interact with friends and associates and discuss their day-to-day or business activities. Making the most out of the new trend, designers are working on different portable gadgets that promises a better platform for social networking not only within the our walls but on the move as well. The “BlackBerry Empathy” by designer Daniel Yoon is an identical phone concept that apart from regular verbal communication also enables the user to go through the activities and updates of their friends, while reading the emotional state, using a biometric ring, of the wearer.
Nokia E10 concept phone
Chinese designer Wang Yifei has come up with a foldable phone, the Nokia E10, which lets you roll out the display to make or receive mail, and when not in use you may simply stash it to place in your pocket. Prior to the concept, Nokia has already registered a patent describing the integration of foldable displays into mobile phones, though there are indications that the technology would cover a wide range of consumer devices like portable music players, notebooks, etc.
