We close out our week of looking at digital photo frames with a surprising entrant from the folks out at Aluratek, which you may not have heard of lately (because frankly, I hadn’t heard of them lately either), but will still put out an intriguing prospect for you in the form of their Aluratek ADPF08SF digital photo frame. The Aluratek ADPF08SF is an eight inch digital photo frame that will show your pictures at 800 x 600 resolution, and it offers an automatic slideshow feature, support for SD and SDHC memory cards, a USB port to give you plug-in memory, and an adjustable frame stand.
There’s not much here, let’s be honest. You’ve got next to nothing in the way of options, save for the barest essentials of digital photo framework. It looks good, sure, and the pictures are pretty solid, but there are virtually no extras here. This is bottom of the rung in terms of features.
For some, this will be just fine–you want something to show your photos, not play music at you and do any of a hundred other things. But for others, this will be woefully inadequate as you’ll be completely restricted in what you want to do.
So once you determine the level of capability you need, and then consider that the folks out at Amazon want just forty dollars for one of these, you’ll be able to determine if it’s right for you.
I’ll say this much, though, since you count on me for this sort of thing, it’s a nice frame. It looks good, the pictures look good, and if that’s all you need then the Aluratek ADPF08SF will do a fantastic job of it. But if you need more than that, this isn’t the frame for you.
